An original very low tech robot

This was my first attempt at any kind of robot. I created it originally to give me something to do while I was healing from being disabled back in 1989. It was built from popsicle sticks, sish kabob sticks, cotton string, bits of misc cloth, a few pieces of clothes hanger and a lot of elmers glue. Everything was operated by various pully type systems driven by motor parts from broken battery operated drills I had previously scavenged or had been given to me. The arm could actually lift about 5 lbs and move along the floor. All the electronics and real hardware have long been removed for other projects but I thought I would put it up here just to show what you can do when you get really bored! |
